INFORMATION TO OUT OF STATE RESIDENTS
Unfortunately out of state residents sometimes receive a traffic ticket for
a traffic violation. Most of the time they can not stay in the Florida to
attend a traffic school to avoid points on their driver's license and the
increase in insurance rates. Metro Safety Council created this website to
assist out of state residents.
If you have received a traffic citation, you have thirty (30) days to pay the
ticket. In Polk County Florida you must elect, complete and return your
certificate of completion of the Basic Driver Improvement Course within
ninety days to the CLERK OF COURT. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL
RESULT IN THE SUSPENSION OF YOUR DRIVING PRIVILEGE.
In other counties, you must pay the traffic citation within thirty (30) days
elect to take the Basic Driver Improvement AND RETURN YOUR
CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION WITHIN SIXTY (60) DAYS TO THE
CLERK OF COURT. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN THE
SUSPENSION OF YOUR DRIVING PRIVILEGE.
Near the bottom of the first page you can save yourself $5.00 by entering
the code: FDDS424. Your certificate can be mailed to you for FREE.
Faxing or e-mailing cost $9.95. Please take the course in time to use the
U.S. Mail. Expect delivery in about 7 to 10 days to be on the safe side.
